People & Pets Extravaganza
The 4th annual People & Pets Extravaganza was held July 6, 2013. We collected over 500 hundreds of pounds each of people food and pet items that was distributed to local food pantries, the Animal Shelter, Humane Society, and Ernie's Heart Pet Food Pantry.
Some of the activities that took place that day included demonstrations by the Indy Dog & Disc Club. Pastor Gina blessed many dogs and cats. She has kept the pets' names and continues to pray for them. She was also disappointed that there was not snake this year! The Animal Shelter had animals for adoption. Activities for kids included the big blowups. The weather intervened and we were not able to have the llamas and alpacas.
Live music was available for people to enjoy as well as free hot dogs and lemonade. Vendors, along with a United Methodist Women's bake sale once again filled the Family Life Center. Huffman Enterprises provided great tenderloins and elephant ears. It was a lot of fun, even with the drizzle that hung around most of the day.
Pets walked their owners around both inside and out! The ones we interviewed said they had a great time!
Plans are currently being made for the 2014 Extravaganza! If helping people or animals is a passion for you, please join us.
